New Moon in Sagittarius

I have to admit, that since the Moon entered the sign of Sagittarius at 5:22pm EST, on December 11th, 2012, that I have been dancing from one new event to another.  I have met many new faces, some whom I may never see again, and I have been quite open to the lite conversation.  All this is the sign of Sagittarius.

It’s not a mistake that at this time of year, in the northern hemisphere when the light is becoming less and less, and the elements call for inward hibernation, that there is an excited movement to move out into the world with our holiday socializing.  This is so Sagittarius.  Laughter, dancing, swinging from the chandelier, it’s all about having a good time.  Sag also represents the connection to family.  For many, we either journey back to our family of origin,  or perhaps gather with the family we have created over the years, or we adopt a group for the holidays to share a smile and perhaps a meal.  It’s a great time to create new friendship.

The magic of this time period has to do with the month-long transit of the Sun in Sagittarius.  From approximately November 21st to December 21st, the Sun sashays through this gregarious sign.  Attending every party it can find, eating every piece of eye-popping food it can wrap its lips around and laughing until the cows come home, is its way of life.  It is a silly sign, and even though it’s willing to stay up until all hours of the night to make sure it’s not missing a thing, you can make sure that once it’s rested up, Sag is ready for the next adventure.  At this time of year, we are all Sagittarius and gaining weight is the norm.

At 3:42am EST, on December 13, 2012 the Moon buddies up next to the Sun.  Both in Sagittarius, now our masculine and feminine lines up.  When the Sun and the Moon conjunct, the sky is dark at night, the world become quiet and it’s time for peace.  Quite contrary to the actual sign of Sagittarius.  Perhaps it’s a gift to have a softening of Sag in the middle of its annual run.  New Moons are inward times, where we have the opportunity to reflect and renew.  They are the seed planting time which allow us to set intentions for future manifestations.  For this New Moon, it will be Sag-style intentions.  From who and where do we gain our joy?  What type of activities inspire us? Does our life-style match our core philosophy?  and to what foreign places would we like to travel?  Reflecting on, and answering these questions at the New Moon and releasing our answers to the universe creates an opportunity for manifestation of these personal desires.  The Moon is about feeling, and when we can really feel the joy and happiness that these answers can bring us, we can create this happiness into our lives.

Sagittarius Thanksgiving

One of the most fun signs for a family holiday is Sagittarius.  The transiting moon in the sky entered the sign of Sagittarius late in the evening on Wednesday, just in time for the American holiday of appreciation.  The archers like to have a good time and the loyalty to family is high, so one can depend upon a day of feasting and laughter.  Although no one may stick around to do the dishes.

Now, truth be told… Well, that is exactly what one can count on, the pure insightful truth on this celebration day.  In fact everyone may have a truth of their own to share, and the pedestals may come out one at a time.  Each getting taller until they reach the ceiling.  Just remember, with all the strong opinions, and all the fanaticism that may seem to dominate, that a direct call for courtesy can easily reel the Sagittarius energy back to the gentlemanly or lady-like demeanor for which Sags can be known.

Sagittarius New Moon Solar Eclipse

How lucky we are to have these New Moon portholes of time which usher in new life experiences.  One thing is fore sure, and that is change.  Life just doesn’t remain the same.  New Moons are portholes of time which introduce us to the new, under the guise of the theme in which each Moon represents.  Add a solar eclipse, with the moon blocking the light of the sun, just for a moment and we see one door close as a new life begins.  Conscientiousness is key in opening to the changes.

At 11:09am MST on 11-23-2011, we transition under the darkness of a new moon, fresh in the sign of Sagittarius.  The sign of the archer aims for truth and for new opportunities.  Sagittarius can only prosper if this fiery sign can express itself with no inhibition, no limits, and no one else telling what to do.  This is a time of the year that parties, friends, food and family are high on the priority list.  Sagittarians are likable, and it’s easy to want to place one in your back pocket, but one may find that tomorrow morning they are no where to be found; as they are off to the next adventure.  This time of year the Sag in everyone’s chart is lit up.  This time is for play and to open to all of the joyful experiences of life.  More than ever, it’s alright to be exactly who we would like ourselves to be.  We prosper, and the world prospers.  So pull your foot out of any door that is trying to close, and trust that with laughter and a heart-felt aim, we can have exactly what we love in this life.

Gypsy Moon

The soul looks for movement and adventure when the Moon moves through the sign of Sagittarius.  This is not a stagnant day, and sitting at home does not fit the bill.  The body aches to move, to be free, to go… where its never gone before.  Feeding this Moon is quite easy if one is able to journey with no ties.  If even for an hour, to enjoy a hike in nature or anything fresh and new, satisfaction abounds.  The Sagittarius Moon is that of a gypsy, dancing until wee hours of the morning with many admirers.  The soul is fresh as she moves on like a flash.
