New Year’s Day… From Lion to Virgin

At  2:45am EST on 12-30-12, the Moon moved into the sign of Leo the Lion.  I only mention this because it seems to me that the New Year celebration started about a day early this year.  This makes sense as an Irish Music Circle I attended was so full of the big loving lion heart.  Everyone smiling and so willing to share their musical knowledge with those sitting outside the circle dreaming of holding one of the inner chairs.  Laughter and music creativity filled the room all night long.

The New Year rang in with a continuation of this joyful cat energy.  Leo is one of the best signs to have a party.  Everyone is welcomed, everyone is forgiven, everyone is an actor on the stage of silliness.  And no matter what you did at the party… light-hearted Leo knows we are just here for fun, and all is well.

Now, energy shifts… 12:35pm EST on 1-1-13, New Year’s Day, the Moon enters the sign of Virgo.  Not bad timing.  We have had a blast over the last couple of days, letting go of responsibility and giving ourselves permission to enjoy the season.  Yet now, the Virgo Moon quickly brings us back into shape, just in time for the last half of the work week.  So there is time to get some laundry accomplished.  There is time to clean the house.  There is time to walk 5 miles through the mountains.  There is time to get everything back in order.  Virgo Moon has that passion, Virgo Moon has that energy.  Virgo is excited to clean and to renew and re-establish.

So, as we enter this New Year, we can really have a light-heart knowing that we started it with the permission to enjoy ourselves the Leo Moon way.  We can look at this year as being ruled by a Leo heart of loving compassion and we can know that there is really no-thing too serious that we can’t fall to the ground with an out of control belly laugh.  So, consider 2013, the year of the belly laugh.
